Everyday Romance: He Said/She Said

This week we’re chatting with Adam Slade and Rhaina Randell about how romance has taken hold over the internet. Grab a cuppa and pull up a chair for a look at love from both perspectives...

How/when did you meet?

He said: We met through a writing forum named Absolute Write around 8/9 months ago. We had spoken and flirted a little on there, but it really kicked off when we exchanged email addresses and got talking over MSN.

She said: We met on Absolute Write a year ago.

Was it love at first sight, or did it take awhile to develop?

He said: I was attracted to her straight away, but it took a little talking on MSN before I knew she was the girl for me. Haven’t looked back since.

She said: It took a while to develop and after some rocks and bumps, we realized we had a lot in common and the love between us just developed naturally.

What are the top three things that you love about your sweetie?

He said: Her smile, her sense of humour, and how much she cares.

She said: Heart, personality and the fact that we connect so much.

What are the three most annoying habits of your "other half"?

He said: I can’t think of that many! The only one that occurs is that she puts herself down too much. She needs to accept that she’s fabulous.

She said: Only one thing annoys me. His ability to over think things.

What is the most romantic thing that your sweetie has ever done for you?

He said: She loves me unconditionally, despite my extreme weirdness.

She said: He has flashed me love notes (over webcam).

What’s your favorite nickname for him/her?

He said: Either Rhai Rhai, or “angle” (intentionally misspelled).

She said: Muffin

Is there a song you consider “yours” as a couple?

He said: Always by Bon Jovi

She said: Always by Bon Jovi

What is the most romantic thing he/she does for you on a daily basis?

He said: She tells me she loves me every day, and blows kisses at the webcam. I can’t get enough of either.

She said: He tells me he loves me every day.

Do you have any tips to share for keeping romance alive from day to day?

He said: Honesty and affection.

She said: Compromise is the key and romance.

Thanks to Adam and Rhaina for sharing a bit of your relationship with us! What you may not have guessed is that Adam and Rhaina have never actually met in person - Adam lives in England, and Rhaina in Canada. Adam is flying to Canada this summer, and they've kindly agreed to do a follow up with us sometime after, so we'll look forward to hearing from these two love-birds again. Best of luck to the both of you!
