Apologies - this is long today. Lots going on around my sphere of the web this week! You're all going to think I'm completely nuts, but if you read the newsletter yesterday, you know that I'm starting a new free serial story on Scribd next Sunday. Blank pages make me "itchy". I've had a Scribd account for a few months now, intending to post some short stories, but I never seem to get around to shorts with the novels I've got going. So there's nothing there, which seems like a travesty considering that Scribd is all about posting stuff for other people to *read*. Since I can't seem to get it together to write a short story to post, I decided to do another weekly serial story. It will be the first story in a series I've been sort of plotting on and off for several months, titled The Biker's Wench.

From what I can see, Scribd doesn't have an rss feed (if someone knows differently, please tell me!) but it would be easy enough to post the widget on my web site, in a blog post (I don't know how that would work with the blog feed), or set up an email subscription for those who want the story, but don't want to read it on the Scribd site (of course I'll post notices of new installments on FB, Twitter, MS, and here). So I'm posing the question to you, dear readers. If you're interested in reading, which format would you prefer to get the installments in?  Leave a comment or email me (because I'm just too lazy to set up a poll for this)!

Goal Reports

Last week was crazy busy and very stressful at the day job...I'm glad it's over. It's times like those though that I'm grateful for writing. Even if I don't have any brain power left, just sitting down with a few pages to edit or struggling over 150 new words is enough to calm the stress and bring me back to some semblance of "normal". Of course when I'm at my busiest is when I'm most productive (a curse and a blessing), so while I may not have had time for extras at work (blog reading & commenting/responding to comments), I made really good progress on both Tempest and Her Private Chef, and I think the serial chapter turned out pretty well too. Reading and laundry fell behind...as did the journaling, but that's to be expected in a busy week. Time to get caught up!

I have decided that because HPC will take a long time to be published no matter when I finish it, assuming I can even sell it, there's just no real hurry on getting it done. I'd like to have the rewrite done by the end of September, but it's a loose goal. Tempest can start making money just as soon as I get it edited and up for sale - I'm in total control of the time frame on that, and it's in a lot better shape than HPC. It seems silly not to have Tempest up for sale as soon as I can get it there...even if it doesn't make much money, seems like since it takes a long time to build a following for "indie" titles, I should get started on that as soon as possible. So Tempest is moving up higher on the priority list, for a mid-to-late summer release.

Goals for the Week

Writing

- 1 hour per day on edits for Tempest
- 1/2 to 1 hour per day on HPC rewrite
- Write serial chapters for The Biker's Wench and Indelibly Inked by Wednesday night
- Finish plotting out TBW

Personal

- Respond to blog comments
- Housecleaning - for real, since I'm having company over this week!
- Keep up with weeding/yard work
- Update web site
