Weekly News & Goals 6/28/10
First off, Chapter 1 of The Biker'sWench is now online at Scribd , and I'm quite happy with how it turnedout. The only part that may be a bit diceyis the font, so if you download it or read it online and it's taxing, let me know and I'll revise the font to a different one. I have noidea why this one seems to have uploaded differently than the lastone, but if it's annoying, I'll figure out how to change it. In anycase, I hope you enjoy meeting Monica and Harley. They're some of myfavorite characters yet.

Goal Reports
Had kind of a rough week last week, dueto a serious lack of organization. I'm having trouble keeping up withdoing my blog posts on Sundays now that warm weather is here, andyard work is necessary. I was actually considering moving to northernAlaska or Iceland yesterday, just because I'm pretty sure theirsummers are even shorter than ours. Since I'm also pretty sure hubbywould never go for that, my only other option is to keep writingfuriously until I can make enough money to stay home, and take theweekends off from writing (or not have to use them forwriting, anyways).
In spite of the roughness last weekthough, I made good progress, even if it wasn't as much as I'd haveliked. No sense dwelling on the past though – gotta keep movingforward.
Goals for the Week
Writing
-
Mark up at least two chapters of Tempest per night.
-
½ hour to 45 min. of new words for HPC per night
-
Two more scenes for The Biker's Wench
-
Ch. 26 of Indelibly Inked
Personal
-
Update web site
-
Workout three nights
-
Stick to the menu plan
-
Stay on top of the laundry
-
Vaccuum
-
Get to bed by 12:30am every night (since I can't seem to do midnight)
That's what's going on in my world thisweek – anything new and exciting (or mundane and boring) in yours?

And my words are running together again. I wasn't drunk, honest - it's the whole pasting from open office thing that does it (and posting late, I skim over it). I'll fix it later, when I get time...

Jamie, you do such a great job at meeting and keeping your goals. I should really follow your example and set out my list at the beginning of the week. At the same time, I have a hard time focusing on more than one big project at once--I think it shows in my writing.
I've been keeping up with working out, which is good--and it's been such nice weather here I've been slacking off on housekeeping to be outside. On the writing front, I've reached 50K on my new WIP, which makes me very happy. I have to finish it, hopefully send it to CP's, polish it and another before September. I also have to write proposals and one-sheets for two books for the ACFW conference. See? This is why I need to set goals at the beginning of the week

LOL - That's the thing though, Cindy...I only ever met about half each week. But I'm glad it appears that I'm doing a good job. I make progress, which is the important part. Without the weekly goals, I kind of wander aimlessly and get far less done. The goals help me take my larger projects in small chunks. Or that's the idea, anyways.
Congrats on meeting 50k!! Sounds like you've got a ton of stuff going on, and deadlines too...good luck with all of those! And by all means, feel free to post your goals here with me if you'd like...we don't bite.

I admire you for publishing your goals! I am currently in the process of trying to implement a more diligent goal setting method. My current one (basically, everything on a to do list that gets too unwieldy, so I add in a short list of what I want to do today. Then that gets too long, so I create yet another one, blah, blah, blah. Anyway, good luck with this weeks goals!

Hi Susie - thanks for stopping in! I hear you on that huge to-do list. I have one of those too...but it runs on my PDA, so I never see exactly how big it is.
Good luck with your goal-setting reorganization...let me know how it goes!

You make me tired just reading your goals.
The chapter you posted of Biker's Wench was awesome! You are really off to a great start. Two weeks seems like a long time between chapters, but I'm confident it'll be worth the wait.
Nice work!
