Weekly News & Goals 9/13/10

It's been awhile since I mentioned it, and I bet you all forgot...but today's the day for revelations. Without much ado, I give you...the cover for Desert Heat!

Super-duper thanks to my fabulous cover artist and good friend, Heidi Sutherlin of Creative Pursuits . You need a cover? New logo for your web site? New graphics? She does all that along with a wealth of other services – so head over and check out her site. Go ahead, I'll wait.

Back? Great. Here's the final blurb for Desert Heat:

When Marie Simco finds out that the money for her research is about to be cut, she’ll do anything to keep her lab funded. Pitted against her former professor in a race to publish on deadline, she finds herself in a desert oasis fighting sabotage, drug lords, natives and her attraction to one very hunky lab tech.

Darren Newbury is ready to follow Marie deep into the New Mexico desert if it will finally get her to acknowledge the connection between them. Determined to help her win the competition against his former employer, he fights to protect their work and break down the barriers around her heart.

Revisions are going well, and I hope to have review copies available sometime in late Dec./early January. Speaking of reviews, if you've read Tempest and are so inclined, please feel free to leave a review on Amazon, Smashwords, Goodreads, or wherever else you care to leave one. Reviews really help to get the word out. I do have review copies available, either in ebook or I have a few print copies I can send out, so if you'd like a copy specifically for review, drop me an email. This will automatically put you on my "reviewers" list for Desert Heat as well, and you'll be offered a copy when I have them ready.

Goal Reports

Last week was hard to get my rhythm back after the holiday and all, but I managed to make good progress with the DH revisions, and I started a short story for my pen name as planned. I planned out the next few bits for The Biker's Wench, but made no progress there, so that will be top priority this week as far as drafting goes. As for personal goals, I did take the stairs all week (good stuff), but I didn't get my workouts in, and while I made good progress on the Halloween prep, I didn't get as far as I'd have liked. Still, any progress is good progress. I finished Cinders – you can read my review on Amazon or Goodreads...it's excellent, I highly recommend it. I also started A Reaper's Tale, which so far has me cracking up with every other page (at least). Funny and very interesting so far.
