Weekly News & Goals - 2/21/11
Oh look, it's Monday again! I'm okay with that though, since I'm off work for President's Day. Not that I'll have much time for writing with a haircut and some other items on the agenda, but hopefully I can squeeze some in here and there. Hopefully your Monday goes well too.
As those of you reading on the blog can see, I was busy updating my template this weekend. The other one was fine, but it was really too "pastel" for the brand I'm building around my romantic adventure/suspense novels. I wanted something a bit more "intense" and adventurous, and I think this does the job nicely for now. I updated my web site as well, so everything matches, and I'll be working on more content for the main site in the coming weeks.
Thanks to everyone who joined Carol and I for last week's intros to Sex on the Page! This week Carol is away on personal business, so we'll just have a post here on Thursday. Carol will be back with a new post a week from Tuesday.
This Week on The Variety Pages
Tuesday: Chapter 49 of The Biker's Wench
Wednesday: Break
Thursday: Sex on the Page – Porn vs. Erotica
Friday: Chapter 50 of The Biker's Wench
Saturday: On the Bookshelf – Excerpt of The Butcher's Boy by Michael Robb
Goal Reports
In a nutshell, I just barely kept up with my regular writing last week. Everything else sort of fell to the wayside – it was just one of those hectic, busy weeks. I'm still trying to get my short story finished, and I'm so close to "done" I can taste it, but really need to get that done and sent off very soon if I'm going to make the release deadline I set. So that's priority number one this week.
Goals for the Week
Writing
-
Finish short & send to editor (by Monday night, hopefully)
-
4 serial scenes
-
Work on TMM
Business
-
Order business cards
-
Check out other author sites to see what content they include
-
Step up marketing efforts a bit.
Personal
-
Get more sleep
-
Get more exercise.
-
Get a haircut (scheduled today!)
-
Catch up on emails (I'm woefully behind)
And that will be my week. What are you up to? What do you need to catch up on most?

My weeks just feel really short now, because day job has gotten much busier. So feel effects of that in the evenings. But my main goal this week is to continue with the editing, little bit every day. Hopefully continue some work on outline for my new book as well, but editing is the main priority. Need to finish up some blog posts too.

Good luck with your projects, Brooklyn! I haven't forgotten about your story either...that should be on my list for this week.
Ugh, Dolly - that sucks about the day job. I hope it sort of smooths out soon so you can have energy at night again! Good luck with the editing too. The "feels like it's never gonna end" exercise.

This reminds me that I should do some of these things.
I'm almost done editing a MS for it to be beta-ed.
Good luck with your goals.
